The Southeastern Indiana Recyling District offers recycling and environmental presentations for classrooms, civic clubs, organizations, government agencies and more in effort to promote good environmental stewardship to the public. We provide presentations which are available electronically for use by teachers, classroom instructors and group leaders. Upon request and if available, a SEIRD staff member may be scheduled to share one of the following presentations with your group or class.
Programs and Presentations
School Recycling
The Southeastern Indiana Recycling District services over 60 schools in our seven county district. Items schools can recycling include fiber (paper, newspaper, softback books, magazines and paperboard), plastic bottles (#1 PETE and #2 HDPE), steel cans, aluminum cans, corrugated cardboard, and hardback books.
PUBLICATIONS
We offer two educational Publications. One Man's Trash is a quarterly publication offering information on recycling and articles promotion environmental stewardship, along with the latest news at SEIRD.
Trash Talk is a publication for students in grades 3-5 in our district. It is full of information to help kids learn to recycle and care for the environment and includes fun learning activities as well.
sCHOLARSHIPS
Every year, SEIRD offers our Students Making an Environmental Difference Scholarship. Applicants are considered based on their environmental and recycling efforts throughout their high school careers, and also their plans to continue to contribute to positive environmental stewardship in the future.
